The Year 13 Performing Arts Advance Performance Skills unit was completed on 4th March with a performance of a new farce “Babysitting Calvin”.
The students built the set, supplied the props and costumes, and directed themselves. It was an excellent performance which demonstrated their skills perfectly.
The story revolves around “Calvin”, a ten-month old baby played by an “adult” actor. He explains to the audience, when the grown-ups aren’t looking, that he remembers his previous life where he died young and that he won’t forget until he’s twelve-months old or says his first word. He has no intention of doing that yet!
The excitement begins when the babysitter arrives who turns out to be his “wife”, Laura, and to add insult to injury, she is accompanied by his best friend “Bob”, who always fancied her.
Calvin isn’t going to let him get away with that - and he doesn’t!!
