On Wednesday, 27th February, I took seventeen Year 10 BTEC Performing Arts students to Biggin Hill Primary School. There they performed their devised pieces to three different audiences of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 covering the subjects of healthy eating, hygiene and safety in the home. they were set this assignment last October and have been working very hard on creating three very different pieces of drama, adding in songs and dances to produce the correct style and genre for Theatre in Education.
All three pieces demanded audience participation and that’s exactly what they got! It was lovely to see our audience so engrossed and smiley; the students really succeeded in performing at the right level for each audience and coped really well with the audience reaction.
Yet again, Charles Darwin reaches into the community and our primary schools using Performing Arts to educate and entertain.
Well done Year 10!
