RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET PDF Print E-mail
in progress‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’, an all singing all dancing musical based on Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, and featuring rock and roll numbers and ballads from the 50s and 60s, was an overwhelming success. ‘What a fantastic performance’, ‘The students and staff have such talent’, ‘The dramatic interpretation, dance and singing married with the creative technology resulted in a really powerful performance, ‘In our 12 years of attending school productions … this was the ultimate performance’, ‘I shall have many memories of the excellent singing and dancing and the wonderful enthusiasm’, were some of the many comments received by the school.

Over 100 students and many staff were involved in this year’s school production – acting, dancing, singing, performing in the band, lighting, media, sound, set, props, backstage, costumes, make-up, front of house, ticket/programme design and publicity. It really was a huge team effort and the benefits of participating in such a large project, requiring co-operation, collaboration, reliability, tenacity, commitment, determination and trust, will be felt by everyone involved, long after we have stopped humming the songs!
