Phootography Trip to Paris |

Over half-term, 29 photography students, accompanied by myself, Mr. Chubb, Mr.
Sowerbutts and Miss Baxter spent 4 nights and 5 days in that city of Romance and Great Art.
Our objectives were simple: to stimulate photographic ideas by a new and different
environment, to expose students to an artistic culture unlike that found in the U.K. and to
experience a foreign capital city at first hand.
During our stay we were so lucky to have at least dry albeit cold weather, a basic but clean 2
star hotel and a central location. Everyone remembered their passports and cameras;
everyone took hundreds of photos and as far as I can tell everyone also had a great time!
Well, I certainly did – our students were great to be with and a credit to the school.
Places visited were, roughly in order…
Maison de la Photographie Européenne
Musée d’Orsay
Centre Pompidou (where we all danced to a jazz band in the square)
Palais de Versailles
Louvre
Sacre Coeur
Champs Elysees
Arc de Triomphe
Eiffel Tower (right to the very top!)
Our selected tour company (European Study Tours) did all
the travel arrangements, hotel (bed and breakfast) and
evening restaurants. Whilst the evening meals were variable,
at least it was edible!
