On Wednesday 28th January the Year 11 BTEC Performing Arts group performed a cut
version of “Annie” as part of their Musical Theatre & Production unit to selected
students in Year 9. These students were chosen because they shared an interest in taking
the qualification and Year 11 wanted to show them what they’d be expected to do. The
Year 11 students worked very hard, giving up the preceding Sunday to rehearse and
prepare. They supplied their own costumes, props, invites to Year 9, and worked the
lights and sound.
The response was incredible and has encouraged many students, including boys, to
choose it as an option. It was a great success particularly when they showed it again in
the evening for family and friends.
Their next show “Welcome to the 60s” is in the hall on Tuesday 6th May and looks to
be even better.
